Kombo South Youth MP Hon. Omar A. Manjang Represents The Gambia at ECOWAS Youth Conference in Accra
Accra, Ghana – April 29, 2025
Youth Parliamentarian for Kombo South, Hon. Omar A. Manjang, is currently attending the ECOWAS Youth Conference on Human Capital Development in Accra, Ghana. The two-day event is part of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) 50th anniversary celebrations.
Held under the theme “Fostering a Region That Is More Economically Inclusive and Peaceful,” the conference has brought together over 100 youth leaders from across West Africa to discuss key issues including education, employment, digital innovation, and peacebuilding.

Hon. Manjang, known for his dedication to youth development in The Gambia, is representing the country alongside fellow young changemakers committed to advancing human capital and regional collaboration.
“This conference provides a vital platform for us to connect, learn from one another, and contribute to shaping policies that can transform our region. As young leaders, we must be at the forefront of change,” Hon. Manjang told Gunjur Online.
The ECOWAS Youth Conference aims to empower young people to play an active role in shaping the future of West Africa. Participants are expected to develop recommendations that will inform future ECOWAS policies on youth empowerment and inclusion.
